Donor Advised funds
What are they?
A donor advised fund is a popular, flexible and easy way to support the organizations, causes and issues that you care about, now and in the future. You can make contributions to your fund at any time and take a tax deduction for the year in which the gift is made. You can then recommend grants be made from your fund at any time to nonprofits that you identify.
A donor advised fund may be created by an individual, family, group, business or nonprofit organization. We request that your fund have an opening balance of at least $25,000.
Highlights:
- Donor advised funds can be named to recognize the donor(s), a family member, friend or organization. Or, you can select a name for the fund that ensures your anonymity.
- The foundation can accept donations of almost any asset, including stock and real estate.
- Our donor services manager is available to help you learn more about the organizations working in the issue areas you wish to support.
- Through donor advised funds, you and your family members can learn more about your community and groups addressing the community issues you care about most.
