Area Served
Primary Geographic focus is the former Greater Yellowstone Region of the Montana Community Foundation (MCF), namely Yellowstone, Carbon, Musselshell, Big Horn, Stillwater and Treasure counties.
Mission
To enhance the capacity of donors and charitable organizations to meet the needs of the greater Billings community.
History
The Billings Community Foundation was incorporated in 2006 by several members of the former MCF regional committee called the Greater Yellowstone Region plus several new volunteers. We received our 501(c)(3) status in January of 2007.
Board
Current Board Members: Teresa Darnielle - President, Jack Nickels - Vice President, Doug Osborne – Treasurer, Bill Milton, Corby Skinner, Don Allen, Doris Barta, Lisa Perry, Lynda Moss, Neil Isto, Obert Undem, Sarie Mackay, Jessica Fehr and Colleen Weast.
good works
Successful 2008 grant cycle. We awarded $12,000.00 to 15 non-profit organizations covering a wide variety of charitable purposes; education, basic human needs, arts and culture, and overall capacity building within the non-profit sector.
