LEARN ABOUT US
Mission
To engage Hill County residents in the support and enhancement of our community.
History
In 1995 Anheuser-Busch Inc. offered a challenge grant to Havre Distributors for the purpose of building a community foundation. Havre Distributors met the challenge in 1995 and 1996, which marked the beginning of the Hill County Community Endowment.
The endowment was established as an affiliate of the Montana Community Foundation, but no formal board of directors was elected. In August 2004, a group of interested individuals came together and elected Randy Hanson as their chair to reinvigorate the endowment. Starting with a $1,350 balance in the fund managed by MCF, the group was able to kick-start a fund drive with a $2,500 challenge grant from Havre Distributors and a second $2,500 challenge grant from MCF, successfully meeting both challenges.
In our first two years of fundraising, our endowment has grown to over $10,000.
In 2007 we are working on a new challenge from MCF to raise $5,000 and receive $2,500 for re-granting.
If we raise an additional $10,000, we will qualify for another $2,500.
